LISLE, Illinois — Ray Graham Association (RGA) has received a $10,000 grant from FT Cares Foundation of Wheaton to fund smart home technology for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). The investment will help RGA integrate accessible technology into residential settings, expanding the independence, safety, and quality of life available to people we support.

Smart home technology, including voice-activated controls, automated lighting, and remote access tools, reduces barriers that can limit how freely people with I/DD navigate their own homes. For many people RGA supports, these tools are not conveniences but functional bridges to greater self-determination.

"Our goal is always to create homes where people have real control over their daily lives," said Chief Services Officer, Caren Musembi. "Smart home technology helps make that possible in ways that feel natural and empowering."

Ray Graham Association's mission is to empower those we support and those who care for them to reach, grow, and achieve. Founded in 1950, RGA serves nearly 2,000 people with disabilities and employs approximately 350 people across DuPage County and the surrounding region.

FT Cares Foundation, based in Wheaton, is committed to transforming lives locally, nationally, and globally through mission-aligned grantmaking.
